My most memorable passge is no doubt from "The Inferno" By Dante alighieri. It is From Canto 1 Pg. 31
"Souls in fire yet content in fire, That wheneverso it may be, They will yet mout into the blessed Choir"
I dont exactly Know what draws me to this phrase, I just am. In my opinion Dante was trying to say. even though they are in pain they continue to sing. they dont give way to the fires of hell in which they are consumed in. It just shows no matter what happens, Just keep singing.
I've taught this book probably 20 times now but there is still so much in there left to discover, to confound, to reflect on...He had quite the imagination, didn't he?
ReplyDeleteHe was a brilant man in my opnion, far beyond his time. Granted i think the setting of the book could only be written in that time where now i think it would be more frowned upon. Which also gives us more room to imagine what he had intended cause we do not know for sure. Which is was draws me to the book more then anything.
